File Compression & Encryption:

Website: WinRAR

We used the Intel X25-M SSD to provide a uniform performance base between all the boards tested in file compression and decompression.

File compression is more or less in-line with the other P55 boards, although the small file compression performance, when overclocked, was consistently a few seconds slower.

File Decompression & Decryption:

The two RAR archives created during the compression and encryption tests were then decompressed and decrypted.

Again small files takes a hit, but this time at stock speeds, whereas overclocked is much better. Large file decompression performance is uniformly pretty good though - matching its brother and both Gigabyte boards perform better than the Asus and MSI competition for around the same price.
